Satrang Gallery is part of the SerenArts, which is an initiative of the Serena Hotels. The gallery is dedicated to supporting and promoting art and artisans from Pakistan, especially young contemporary local artists. This initiative is led by Asma Khan and her team.

As part of their key goal, the Satrang Art Gallery has recently organized a day long exhibition titled, Heraa Khan: Losing Earth.

Given that awareness about the importance and need for everyone to take an interest in our environment the Losing Earth was a timely and significant exhibition, which highlighted the rampant devastation to the environment, as a direct consequence of human excesses and behaviours.

The show, which was composed of a new body of work, marks a different direction for Heraa, who is an exceptionally skilled miniature artist. Beautiful jewel like paintings depict the increasing threat to wildlife and nature, as well as changing ecologies and the visible effects of global warming.

Heraa Khan is Lahore based artist. The exhibition was attended by diplomats and a large number of people from different walks of life. Adviser to the Prime Minister on Climate Change, Malik Amin Aslam also visited the exhibition.

She is building a sustainable practice and is inviting her viewer to engage with her thoughtful works and educate themselves about this crisis.

Artist around the world are helping raise awareness about environmental issues and climate change through their work and it is quite encouraging to see young local artists highlight the cause through their work.
