W.H. Auden aptly said; “Music is the best means we have of digesting time.”

Given that our lives have been put on a pause mode by force, digesting time is something that everyone is struggling with in some shape and form. It is not just about having too much time on our hands or adjusting to a new work from home routine, it is just the uncertainty of the situation that is taking a collective mental toll on everyone.

Everyone has their own way of managing the stress and some are looking for ways to find a way to deal with the situation. For those of you who are working from home, concentrating at times be an issue. The cause is not necessarily connected to having boundaries around your work space or time management etcetera. You can have all that sorted and still find it a bit difficult to concentrate sitting on your work station.

If this is something that you have faced, don’t worry you are not the only one. Instrumental music is something that has helped. Even if you are not someone who in regular circumstances listen to music while working, I would suggest that you try. After all these are no regular circumstances. The reason the focus is on instrumental music is because with lyrics there are chances that you are further distracted or entirely shift your attention, by spending time in deciding what you will hear next.

An instrumental playlist is going to help calm those jittery nerves and help you concentrate on your work and given that you will be able to focus properly you will end up with better time management as well, ensuring that you are not working the entire day just to finish the work that otherwise takes half that time.

Here are links to some of the suggested compilations to get you started.
