Riz Ahmed, the British-Pakistani rapper, actor and activist is out with this latest album, The Long Goodbye. The Emmy-winning star’s album comes with a short film focused on his home country that has broken up with him.

The album touches upon the current polarized situation in the UK which can have additional impact post Brexit. However, the phenomenon is no longer unique to the country and therefore is quite relatable to anyone listening to the music.

This time around the album is paired with a heart wrenching short film as well. Available now on his Riz’s YouTube channel. The twelve minutes film opens to a family scene, where they are preparing for a wedding and how it all goes south in a blink of an eye. Can’t give anymore details without spoilers so just watch it yourself.

Though the short film is connected to the album, but it will connect with a larger audience, even with those who have not really followed his music.
