A Solo Soul’s Sanctity
And its wonderful wisdom
Soft grey strands populate my thoughts
and grow by my temples.
Aging knows less is more
and the gentle corners to explore
a leaf
the wind
drinking the colors
of said sweet sunset
the amber foliage
dancing reggae,
all of which are exquisite.
Being single is sadly equated
to not being seen
coupled with aging
it turns one invisible.
Solo goes against the mainstream.
And for that, I’m pleased
because I honor
the colors of sadness
the ancient ways of loneliness
the bittersweet nature of depression
the slight hollow carved from self-trust
all of which elucidate
a life now lived with respect
inherent by the intricacy and freedom.
This is a solo soul’s sanctity.
Let’s not close our eyes to its wisdom.
