I notice specks of dust
shooting through space
and drifting through time.
Meanwhile, I circle the sun,
working too hard to have fun
and afraid of what’s to come.

Drifting in a cosmic craze,
I dream of brighter days.
I feel hopelessly out of place —
a lone star drifting in space.

Darkness floods my mind,
and fear holds me behind.
I can’t process my thoughts,
and my stomach is in knots.

No matter how hard I try
to Face Everything And Rise,
the world passes me by,
and I can’t find my “why.”

Life has its own rhythms,
and time writes its own tunes.
With all its highs and lows
amidst the ebbs and flows,
the carousel of time never slows.

A speck of dust, I float along,
trying to tell right from wrong.
Trying to balance, to stand tall.
Trying to make sense of it all.

Floating in a universal maze,
I learn to cherish the bright days.
I’m a lone star lost in space
until I one day find my place.
