What is it lives in us,
what lingers in our inner space
reminding us we’re cosmic,
like the whisper of eternity
and the silent voice of love?
Perhaps it’s the Universe
singing songs of silence,
unwritten language of the stars,
touching our boundless inner sky
like those moments
when starlight
fades into the dawn
as we hear the sound of ocean surf
and see the wild, resilient beauty
of a windswept tree.
Moments when the Universe
shows itself to us,
revealing something
of its mystery
in the silence
inside us.
