My demons fight a fierce war
Between the valleys of my mind
Clashing steel meets stone hearts
Battles over before they start
Like rivers cutting through creation
They fight to end the other’s nation
Banners stained with crimson
Under a blessed mission
To retake what’s been lost
Victory acquired
No matter the cost

A boy sits near the clouds
Eyes trained below
The world below ablaze
Fires spreading
End of days
Continued war
Muscles buckling
Bodies sore
Until few are left
To lift up the cause
They look to the skies
Given pause

Clouds parting like water
A biblical tale
Down falls blue showers
All rendered pale
This era is over
Gods weep their tears
Return to your countries
Go home without fear

The boy watches the green
Sneak across scorched earth
“So much destruction”
He sighed
“All this hurt”
To both body and mind
Spirit and brother
Why do we do this
Hurt one another?

Down into the valley
New life sprouts
Even in desolation
There can be no doubt
What humans can do
Can be undone
If they work in tandem
Grow as one

The boy descends the mountain
Glides across the earth
Over bleeding lands
To witness this birth
Resetting the story
Undoing the script
To think even malice
Could be outstripped
By a thing called love
Blooming now in this place
He cups the black lily
A flash of light
Gone with no trace.
