Do You Remember?

A Poem

Can you hear him
in the gentle rustling
of cascading leaves,
your back resting on a soft
blanket of green
surrounded by a meadow
of weeping willows,
the sun warm against your cheeks
as songbirds fill your ears
with sweet melodies?

Can you feel him
in the salty cold
waters of Hampton Beach
kissing your toes,
as the foamy white waves
graciously lap upon
the sun-sparkled shoreline,
the velvety sand
parting as you press
forward with every step?

Can you see him
in the field of wildflowers,
countless blossoms
of vibrant colors
suspended on tall
pedestals swaying rhythmically
back and forth
to the song of the gentle wind,
like synchronized dancers
in the ballet of life?

This poem was written for a dear friend in remembrance of their father who passed away.

Thank you for taking the time to read my poem. Without you, my voice would be a soft whisper just floating in the air.
