Drop of Honey

A poem.

you were a drop of honey
a taste —
of not knowing when
uncertainty
if only
then

perhaps
if you could
look this way
I’d get a better feel
and I’d know my place

if only I could
see your face
if we could exchange
a quick nod,
something —
anything
to set me straight

but you never look up
you just walk away,
and I’m left
wondering
if I’ll ever recuperate
