She could be selfish,
but she chooses to love you instead.

She could be lazy,
but she chooses to wake up with you instead.

She could drink the entire bottle of wine,
but she wants to share it with you instead.

She could complain you forget to tell her things,
but she’ll stand excited for every little bit you do share.

She could scream every time your clothes are on the floor,
but she chooses to put them away.

She doesn’t want to live without you,
so she’ll choose to stay.

Loving you,
waking up with you,
drinking wine with you,
celebrating the little things with you,
means
you’re here.

If you’re here,
she could be selfish,
but she’ll choose to love you every single day
— for eternity instead.

For existence, for expression and a mix of both — an outlet. So romantically attached to poetry, I try to pen my own.
