Guardians

A Poem

Photo by Tina Vanhove on Unsplash

you’re here
both of you
with me
guardians of my nights
if only I could
to see you
even in broad daylight
I would do
nothing more than
write to you
poems
like this one
my dear star
my sweet Moon
see how heavy
my eyelids are
I need to sleep
come tomorrow again
look after me
I’ll be waiting for you
at dusk
eyes full of tears
those that give
balm to the heart
