Her

A Poem

On a mornin’ gloomy morning
In the stinking underground of the Parisian subway
He is ready to face the icy cold outside

Hands buried in the pockets of his winter jacket
Sad face and a knotted belly
The escalator carries him to the daylight

A piece of the grey sky appears above the buildings
As the symbol of a long and stressful day
And then suddenly her perfume comes to him

He sees her from behind two metal steps higher
A woman with beautiful dark hair
Wearing a long trench coat

For just a few seconds
His life turns into a rainbow
A flavor like a ray of sunshine in his wounded heart
