Her Tears Cannot Be Fooled

A poem.

it’s the same tune every time
a melancholy sour note
a desperate kind of tone
you know the kind
the one you sing
that lingers into afternoon

with every word
you don’t intend to keep
the tears that drop
because of you
they’ve learned
to fall in place

Stories that matter. Emotion first and foremost.
