I Can Suffer This Scorch

Once, the world crumbled down upon her

entwined, she fell into the deep, dark depths of the earth

felt the fires overwhelm her

as she groaned into the long, long night.

The flames roared and they soared

until she opened her eyes…

found herself amidst a dance,

a celestial dance so bright she thought

I can suffer this scorch.

Letting them roar,

letting them take her to places never been before.

Illuminated, she marked every movement,

studied every shape,

feasted upon every flicker

and reveled within their power.

The show slowly shimmered to an end

and she was left, much different than before,

with scars and slightly sore but that was not all,

something new, something alive, was flickering inside.
