If You’re a Bird, Then Fly

I knew I wanted to marry you
On our first date

Kind of crazy I know but
Everyone was talking about
The stock market and
Getting promotions and

You took me to this graffiti alley
And showed me the art
Your friends made
And I swear
I loved you
In that moment

A boy who grew up
With nothing
Who became everything
But only cared for
Some good music
And a decent soul

Maybe
I was a gold digger
Cause I found a heart of gold
And I so badly wanted
To keep you

I projected my dreams
Onto you
I wanted so many things
For us
