delightful fragrance
my mother’s hands in motion
sweet lavender wand

Author’s note: This haiku was inspired by memories of holidays with my parents in the Haute Provence region of France. That was maybe 20 years ago. I still see my mother’s hands making this lavender wand again. She taught me how to do it. I kept several of them for years in the drawers of my cupboards, so that the laundry would be soaked in the smell of lavender.
