Rinse and Repeat

almost drowning
in a cycle of disappointment
but I still feel dirty
rinse and repeat

soapy suds of solace
cannot wash this loss from my skin
stained by promises unkept
wrinkled expectations
ungentle cycles
rinse and repeat

nothing to do with you
everything to do with me
I’ve created the instructions
rinse and repeat
