Small Town Spells

Watercolour nights and
a ride across town
singing along some
indie rock, wearing
paper crowns,
pretending to be the
kings of our small town

Sunflower fields and
disposable cameras
capturing polaroids
that would later call
for the feeling of
nostalgia

Old stories and tear
filled laughters
remember jumping
into lakes? Or driving
with the top down to
some unknown place?

Abandoned castles and
some cans of spray
carving our names,
smoking cigarettes
breathing in the
second hand air

Red cups and silly
wine drunk smiles
all our sober thoughts
slipping into embarrassing
poetry lines
reminiscing the late
nights spent at diners
serving waffles and fries

I hope, friendship like
Ours promises a lifetime
