In a sea of silence —
Poetry is what we feel,
what we need in life
when words get twisted,
clotted,
knotted.
Silence is evaded when wisdom is what we wrap
around each turbulent moment,
when we are drowning in a sea
of absurdity and insanity,
when we are inundated by the tears
we held back when life pierced us
in places vulnerable,
unimaginable,
unattainable.
Poetry is often
dismissed in a world
of coders and calculators
but it is
the elixir
the catalyst
the alchemist
the phoenix
in a world stuck in overdrive
unable to find
the simple pleasures of light and beauty.
