I am a child here
stuck in between
this straight house
and home
this conservative land of no spills
no stains no drinking from the same
cup I had this morning
I was still using that I was still using that
the prime rib glistening
on my plate of privilege
I am a child here
I am stuck in between wanting
to say the words on my tongue
and wanting to hide
it all in my napkin
everything is stuck in my throat
