Towards The Horizon

A Poem

Your heart has teeth
Your words hold venom
It sinks its claws
Injecting and spilling hurt
Shrouding me like a grey cloud

I burst into tears
And rained a parade
Hoping to chase the greys of you away
And the looking gloom of shame

It took the fraying ends of my mind
And the cracks of my body
And some soul searching
And an eternity
Waiting for an eclipse
A miracle
Before I could find the light within me

And hereby I became an unstoppable force
No longer afraid of any setbacks
Or the stormy nights
My heart sailed on
Rocky yet steady
Towards the horizon

The magic of growth
