All the moments of our life
vanish like shadows in a mist,
yet always
there’s the silence
that connects us to the universe,
the conscious silence in our heart
known like love is known,
known like we know beauty,
a knowing that can’t be said,
a love that knows
all love is one.
Something deep inside us,
something in the silence,
helps us see more clearly
as though we have new eyes,
as though we know
what those in love
will sometimes know
and cannot say,
that consciousness
throughout the universe
joins every one of us
with all the spiral swirls
among the stars.
The universe
is waking up
to itself
inside us,
helping us know
what can only be known
intuitively
in our heart,
that the beauty in every moment
happens only now,
and while seagulls shriek and play
in the early morning sky,
a conscious silence
that dissolves all boundaries
brings some meaning to our life,
and the poetry of starlight
becomes the ordinary
and everyday.
