What Does the Crow Know?

A poem

is anyone ever in the clear? —
transparent, translucent, iridescent
are we the late ones?
are we just getting started?
the one step forward —

does the crow ever shy
away from her throat?
call out to the blue ridge
then riding a top-branch wind,
regret her choice of tone
or timing
