Even if you are the best writer and poet, there are going to be times when your mind is empty. It happens but it’s normal. I hope that you enjoy this poem ❤

When characters take a sabbatical
And plots become lost in obscurity
Trapped in a mass of oil paintings that have melted
Over each other, creating a kaleidoscope-colored block,
Emotionally your mind is turned off
And the pen, the pencil, the letter,
Feels cold and uneven as you type
Or write or scribble out the chaos
It’s time to stop forcing out your muse
Who is taking a snooze because it’s tired
Sometimes the body knows what we need
Beyond ambition. If the words aren’t there.
It’s because you need rest.
A break from greatness.
