Do not regret your struggle.
Rejoice as a leaping salmon
claiming the pinnacle of the waterfall,
as a climber who reaches the summit before dawn.

The challenge is honor.
Exalted is anything striving to become.
Take your blows as trophies,
with the humility of a student,
with the glad heart of a champion.
Do not condemn your suffering,
as the deepening of spirit is always a gift.

How shall we heal the wounded
if we have not known the wound?
How shall you recognize your own naked soul
if it has not been laid bare to your senses?
