UNCOMMON POETIC FORMS — CETHRAMTU RANNAIGECHTA MOIRE

A Spectator Of Sport

Silent observations during a tennis match

Toss the ball
Serve for ace
Ball returned
Watch your pace.

Up a game
Not won yet
Stretch for shot,
Missed the net.

Green fuzz blurs
As I blink
Suspense builds,
With each swing.

Necks do turn
Shots go long
Line to line,
Rally on.

Wheezing hard
Beads of sweat
Start of end,
The final set.

Pour your soul
Run and fall
Tiebreaker
One for all.

Final point
Won today
Game, set, match.
Tears hit clay.
