Like freckles on the maple leaf
edges burnt, curled
bleeding orange
minus mind’s imperfection

poetry ebbs

words playing renegade
splitting syntax through verses
a kaleidoscopic capsule
an imagery release

and flows

infinite colors — ecstatic
bloom, multiply
divide, wilt
falling to its knees

poetry pleads

A turbulent whirlwind
spiralling bubbles
voids of non-relief
smarting when touched

verses sway

in tune, harmonizing
to angels’ voices
seeking an audience
between heaven and earth

Poetry divides

swallowing valleys
deconstructing metaphor
shielding the writer
from herself

Ann Marie Steele

I write about love and loss, what I observe and experience — I write about hope. My writing has been described as resiliently defiant.
