Roll, crash, fizz bubble
As the ocean tide recedes
Bald shore now blank slate

Tide high and mighty
Torrent of power creeps while
moon plays hide and seek

, July 2020

As the temperatures promise to cool, and the ocean tides recede, I am reminded that as writers, our muses often ebb and flow, and our words play hide and seek, only peeking out from the clouds from time to time with rays of revival. At least mine have.

But with every season comes a chance for renewal, a blank slate in which to breathe anew — to exhale poems creating a snapshot in time for both the writer and the reader.

And now on to our wonderful writers, whose unique blend of poetry and prose have certainly not remained hidden this past month!

Thank you for being such a warm community of literary-minded humans. We value your feedback. Scrittura is the publication it is today because of our writers’ genuine and creative words and the consistent readership of our subscribers.

“Wonderful Words” is a selection of our favorite pieces from the previous month. We value human connection, attention to detail, and quality…
