Brush Strokes

painted expressions…

paint that pain tainted in soreness old
stroking gently the aches throbbing cold
in poise nonchalant posing careless but bold
strife and sighs in on the assemblage frescoed

hues of Blue for dark shades in despair
streaks of Yellow pitying the heart so mellow
covered on top with a myriad of Cyan
so no one knows.. but her soul that doesn’t bellow

murky shadows for thoughts hollow
measly Teals for the flaws shallow
must not know, will not show
let it flow, impetuously slow

promiscuous vows that heed not mind’s words
portrayed motley in vibrant shades pastel
stories unstrung, picture frames unhung
stretches of Life uncolored, greyed out

and in the dawn when they come to speak
all they see is her staring at them bleak;
