I said I’d develop a point of view
then
come across town
to your new apartment
I said
that I was caught but
wasn’t supposed to be getting the joke
Alienated
by the impression of another’s day
the coffee
having slid first through
some other throat
The obscuring of the individual
statues
takes on the world like a photograph
but only to try
to make it move /to abscond with the
social history
of yet one more plague
