Floating islets encapsulate a smoky bar
where orbs of ochre gracefully slip through
wispy spectres, shadows lost
devoured by desolate darkness.

Sapphire bottles emit bewitching allure
promising passionate serendipity
from chance encounters over sparkling starlight
and ebony eyes that meld
into a sea of seductive smiles,

slowly,
craftily
drawing in the night.

Slinging her silver bow
over taut, sinewy shoulders
the chase begins for creatures nearly besotted,
running out the sunset.

But the second he falls,
crystalline crevices break silky words,
cracks spread like wrathful vines.

Seal them with hardened lies -
an unforgiving seamstress
weaving a bed of truths.

Construct the impenetrable fortress,
abrupt cessation.

Ice thaws as winter fades
into imprisoned hearts emerging
long after emotions subside
and only scar tissues remain
soaking up the tears, prepare
for the encore.
