I have turned over my pen
to fish and other nomads
I pretended I knew
what I was doing
for long enough
This is not

I repeat not
to apologize for any of it

Prompt:

For today’s prompt, I thought we’d change it up a bit (yes, again!). I want you to do two things with your piece: 1) your title must be or contain a verb, then your poem/piece must not, I repeat, NOT, contain that verb in the poem, just the sense of it; 2) I want you to add at least one anthropomorphized noun, something that isn’t human that you interact with. If ya hate it, I don’t have to do it again…Have fun! Tag me in it (J.D. Harms). You can either send it to this publication or make it a stand-alone piece. If you would not like to send it to us, make sure to leave a comment below with a link to the story.
