Hope Is a Grasshopper

A tiny poem

Danielle Loewen
Scrittura

--

Hidden in the grass
until suddenly startled
springloaded leap of faith

careening through sky
no landing in mind
unfettered, daffy, disorderly

nature’s whimsical clown
laughably preposterous
irredeemably inevitable

delicate but durable
wilful & unbroken
ebullient, buoyant, verdant

insignificant, perhaps?
but there is unexpected strength
in numbers

abrupt revelation
just when you thought
you were lost

Danielle Loewen enjoyed playing with her words long before she heard of Scrabble. You can read more of her poetry here.
