In/ Consolable
09 May 2020 Saturday Poetry Prompt: consolation

& here
after the lines have had their day
\Here where I cannot
come upon you, where I cannot
see
There is a doorway
but it only opens onto one more
threshold
as if that was all
it must keep inside
Away from your smile
but I hope it comes back\ it has been
so long
Adamant that change
becomes so much a part of all
our oppositions
& I suddenly notice…
I no longer have your face
on my walls
