On an endless journey
Through dark coldness
Of inert and airless space
Locked in a bridled dance
An eternal twirl
To a brutal master
Scotched faced and burning breath
The blue planet endures

Her oily juices sucked dry
Skin punctured and ripped apart
For her youthful essence.
Breath poisoned with gaseous wastes
Watery veins clogged with plastic
Molten centre befuddled
Her magnetic nature erratic
From body blows of nuclear tests

A torturous epoch
From wayward children.
Like a dazed boxer
Punchdrunk and bewildered
Mother Earth’s true north wobbles along
Precariously through a crowded dance floor

She wears her tribulations
Like a crusty mask
Multicoloured and mysterious
Mischievously she jiggles
Shaky legged, demure blue faced
Through day and night and forever
With bursts of unpredictable temper
Fits of uncontrollable tears
And a willful urge to throw things around

Our domestically abused mother earth
