“It’s Just Politics”

When the road to success
is littered with suffering
and lives in ruin, is it success?

To that end
only a demented mind
could find satisfaction.

For whom the words
“It’s just politics”
sanctified the means.

Whether or not
the ends justify the means,
the means expose our nature.

The means matter
maybe more than the ends.
For in the end,
we are judged by the means.

If the ends justify the means,
who justifies the ends?
And why then in the end,
are we judged by the means,
and not the ends?

A prompt from Wry Welwood inspired this poem.

Always Ask:
1. What is the right thing to do here?
2. Is it legal, moral and ethical?
3. If the answer to #2 is no, revisit #1.

Naively, But Doggedly,
With Only Pen And Faculty,
We Decry Hatred And Bigotry.
