Nightly Routine

Fusion of past, present and future, prompted prose and poetic thought

--

At the start of day, actuality, end well-chosen beginning. Foraging complete, successful hunt in concrete jungle. Weekly end, rest, preparatory gathering resources: strength, courage, non-attached reality, inner peace, deepened love and understanding. Writing script for playwright into the night.

Restful slumber, gentle sheep resting head. Holy shit, recanting past week. Breathing in, gathering all thoughts, feelings and attachments to what was; breathing out like a thoroughbred winning triple crown.

Darkness falls, fade to black, no thoughts or being existing time-space.

First act transported to childhood memories, none of the usual, new characters present be. Wandering plantation, traveling to space, by land or sea…wherever subconscious chooses. Never certain if movie will be shown black and white or multi-vision.

Awake, yet dreaming of old, wondering the same. Can we move to the next act? This too was entertaining, but time for next. It is the awakened self, noted parallel universe between daily events and traveled memory-lane. Childhood friendships, sharing healing process of futuristic events. Integrated thought based realities, transmuted thoughts intertwining, boredom sets in. It is done.

What time is it? Is it time to wake up yet? Are we done with this process? Still dreaming, yet sitting up checking time. The dream within a dream, in and out, navigating time traveler. Like broken record playing loop, over and over, slapped-happy reality. You are sleeping. Stop acting like you are awake!

Second act arriving vividly, more descriptive and a hell of lot more entertaining. Sensory overload, cup over-flowing, deeper understanding. Travel by sea, fire-walk, merely swimming across a pool. Cleansing breath is what comes next, rainbow’s kiss, promising new day.

Spinning scenarios, to what was beginning, now weeks end. What ends in joy, becoming frightful beginning to yet another cycle. This time being different…choosing washing cycle, baring marks gentle cycle.

Thank you J.D. Harms for this prompt. Always rolling the dice, spicing it up, you are. As for me, diving deeper, learning, growing, expanding frontal lobes telling story, making stuff up.
