Our Monthly Selection of Wonderful Words
In Celebration of Scrittura’s Writers: December
The page has turned on another year. Here in the Piedmont of North Carolina, there is snow for the first time in a few years. While across the continent, my L.A. friends are afraid to return to their homes to see what remains of their burned-down neighborhoods. This year has already reaped some consequences of our past and major planetary shifts are well underway. On a personal note, we have had a major loss in our family, and my overwhelm has kept me wanting to pull the covers over my head.
What remains in the chaos is art. We must write! We must create! We must speak our truths for all of humanity. We must leave records of our survival and our willingness to thrive! — for our community depends on it. Human connection is what this is all about, right?
Thank you for being such a warm community of literary-minded humans. We value your feedback. Scrittura is the publication it is today because of our writers’ genuine and creative words and the consistent readership of our subscribers.
“Wonderful Words” is a selection of our favorite pieces from the previous month. Since we were on vacation in December, there are fewer selections this time! We value human connection, attention…
