Telepathic Injury

A Poem

I knew you were going
to do that
sacrifice lunch to the stones
call down curses on broken machines
whatever grabbed your attention
That cenotaph could begin to walk
and it would get here before
I relinquished the thought
of this company
holding ashes reconstituting them
trying out different scripts
Staying might have been a bad thing
a new absence for whatever’s left
