The Illusion of Beauty

We’re the weirdos and the outliers, the eccentric and the non-conformers. We’re the disbelievers of the concept of failure and the doubters of what accounts for success.

I know not the origin,
Of the illusion of beauty.
I know not what behooves,
The illusion of beauty.

I know only, that there is
An entire world built upon
The illusion of beauty.

A world full of
Untarnished bodies
And tainted souls.
Of seductive words
And malicious thoughts.

All worshiping
The illusion of beauty.

This world is enveloped by
The illusion of beauty.
It wants docile obeyers
And obtuse consumers.
Society is an illusion of beauty.

It has no place for the likes of us,
This illusion of beauty.

We’re the weirdos and the outliers
The eccentric and the non-conformers.
We’re the disbelievers
Of the concept of failure
And the doubters of
What accounts for success.

We elude
The illusion of beauty.

There are things we possess
That no one can purchase.
We know truly
What it means to have and love,
What it means to grieve and lose.

Our beauty is feral,
Our beauty is magnanimous.
A beauty that encompasses life
And rejects the blindfold
Of the illusion of beauty

They think we’re the misfits,
The imbeciles,
Because we don’t conform to their illusion.

They’re the truly deranged,
The fools who spend their lives,
Chasing a mirage, that is
The illusion of beauty.
