The Wound Nearly Killed Me
you won’t see my scars

the wound nearly killed me
permanent damage
my face torn beyond recognition
bleeding out the life I had before
loss on a scale I couldn’t comprehend
found the right people
to help scoop me off the floor
put me back together
their patches my patches
permanent holes left open
you’ll never see my scars
but they almost killed me
