26 September 2020 Saturday Poetry Prompt: the “stumbling block”

Syllables like plasma separating
lining up words
taking sides
disposing of all the waste
that falls from my fingertips
like comparing dark skeletal trees
to me
ink evaporating before this gibberish
smudges my paper
rubbing dirt deep
on my carpeted mind
all work and no play
you know what they say
but I’m no Jack…
