Waste Disposal

26 September 2020 Saturday Poetry Prompt: the “stumbling block”

Photo by Olga Serjantu on Unsplash

Syllables like plasma separating
lining up words
fluid
taking sides
disposing of all the waste
that falls from my fingertips
like comparing dark skeletal trees
to me
ink evaporating before this gibberish
smudges my paper
exponentially
rubbing dirt deep
on my carpeted mind
all work and no play
you know what they say
but I’m no Jack…

I pen poetry about love and loss, what I observe and experience — I write about hope. My writing has been described as resiliently defiant.
