Oh, hooray. The year 2023 is history…

And we are re-emerging from a much needed break on January 3, 2024.

Your editors work so very diligently to be sure that Scrittura presents the best works possible. We are often in correspondence — and I would venture to say that it is daily — behind the scenes.

With 2024, we will be looking at a new schedule of publishing. Scrittura will publish on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays.

This allows the editors more freedom and flexibility in deciding what and when to publish. What it means is that they, who all have full-time real-time jobs in the real world, can spend a time, when they have time, to edit and polish and publish.

Freedom and flexibility — isn’t that life’s purpose?

We will of course continue our tradition of prompts thanks to the creative and insightful work of Paroma and Wry.

And, and… we will continue to work on catching up with our new writer requests. We’ve made a few adjustments to the system we use to vet new writers; it’s a process and it takes time. Scrittura relishes in its edgy reputation; however, we are real sticklers for authenticity — real works by real people.

And it’s these real people who make it happen.

Viraji Ogodapola, Samantha Lazar, Ann Marie Steele, Paroma Sen, Wry Welwood

And every single day I thank them.

Best

Z
