Burn me slowly

Make it last

You have this look on your face
When you’re trying to read me

As if you’ve been searching for something
Your whole life and
You think you might find
The answer
Behind my eyes

It makes me shy

You stand at the gates
Of my universe
Curious

And I want to take you
On a tour

Bring a flashlight
And I’ll walk you through
The darker parts
Of my childhood

Press your hand
Against mine
So we can
Connect
Our heart lines
Compare
Our life lines

Strip me down
One layer
At a time
Until you feel
The rawness
Of my being

But
Do it slowly
