Candies and toys
Poem
I’m used to bouncing
off your tongue
You’d think that I like to keep you
busy
like when you’re a kid and
you do something wrong
then you get punished
but you want the attention
At least someone cares
enough
to do those things to you
you know?
Truth be told
you’re the kid here
and I’m that fancy treat
you had so much of lately
’til I made you sick
Candies and toys
they go stale
you can have too much
they break or
you just outgrow them
Then one day you get an urge
when you forget all that
Sometimes
they don’t make those anymore
and that’s sad
but nothing’s worse than
they changed the formula
You can still get nauseous
but it’s just not the same
and then that broken toy
the one you thought you missed
was it your mind playing games?
