chained to midnight

ever wish you could see sounds and hear thoughts?
why would you wish that? reality is confusing enough…
there’s no need to track my recommendations
for the shareholders out there, because I’ve
feigned sincerity once or twice before
and it’s merely a convenient way to start up
a brand new thing… whoa, the neighbors seem to
slide on by with traces of jealousy splashed across
their faces… but I’m here, chained to midnight
working on something that will make an impression,
hopefully, something that will be memorable
to someone out there… don’t be petty now, share
those riches that you’ve obtained… they say,
if you don’t like toenails, you probably shouldn’t
look at people’s feet… I’ll admit it, I sometimes love
to sleep on beds of nails, because waiting can be
a way to escape consequence… but your whole life
can’t be about the wait — no one can carve out an
existence in an interim period… I was once told
my confidence would be considered admirable
if it wasn’t for my grand stupidity… and people
keep telling me my eyes are brown, but I prefer
to think they’re ______.
love is not like pizza
but sex sometimes is
you can’t come here for wisdom
or inspiration, because none of that exists

Did the rules make my parents feel safer?

This is the key for most strict rule following religious people I know. If you follow all the rules God will bless you. If you don't disaster will strike. I prefer to follow a loving God. You wrote about this beautifully. Thanks for sharing.

Wow - very interesting read Mary Jo! So many rules...
Sending you love and light ~

I was an only child and certainly wouldn’t have rushed down stairs on Christmas morning to rip open presents.

Oh, speak for yourself! I am an only child and that was one of my favorite parts!
