A poem

Her name is Time
And you laid her down with your eyes
No, I can’t resist you
Even though she told me to

Like a raging fire
Burns every little thing alive
So did I
The first time
Your hand crept over to mine
Your lips touched mine
Stopped my breath on a dime

When you’re in my arms
I won’t fight
Or take flight
And never mind old lady Time
If my heartbeat
Was every tick of the minutes passing
I’d be old
Before the new…
