I’m So Tired
A poem by Moony Thinker
I am so tired…
Growing more exhausted
Every day, every month;
Always surprised that
I have made it
This far, along the journey.
I look back upon
The many challenges overcame
And see that I am not stronger
By each triumph; just
Pieced back together but
Never whole, like before.
I am so tired,
So, so tired;
Weaker, getting weaker.
I am so far from where I began
But
Fast approaching the close.
Resting upon the edge
With my feet dangling,
I look to the sky
To see once more
Selene ride by;
The light in the darkness.
We wave at one another
As she passes over,
And the shadows return
Crawling back
To blanket me, surround
Me.
Laying back upon the ground,
Eyes open but seeing only darkness;
I await Morpheus
But he doesn’t come.
Instead, his uncle
Thanatos
Steps through the shadows
And leans over me
With a smile.
I was tired,
I was expecting some dreams
To get me through once more
But, it is time
And this will do.
Thank you; goodbye.
— The Why —
(FYI: I was a bit down in the trash heap when writing this poem)
I really do not know how much longer I can go on without Thanatos’ visit…
Be well, my friends.
