Lack of Interest
Poetry
did you hear
they just opened a shake shack in the mall
down the strip from three burger places
on the way to the post office
and that they closed the local bookstore
and one of the banks
due to lack of interest.
i like to order a chicken fajita
from the nearby roadside buffet,
it serves as my comfort food
when i’ve finished the häagen dazs
and my heart still lies wounded in a sling.
i know food is woefully not the answer
to a broken heart,
it just creates a whole new set of miseries
while it seems to calm the seething soul.
grace notes: my downfall is emotional eating. I’ve tried to sublimate by turning to writing. Writing is my mistress. Still I have learned to trust no one. Please tell me if I am wrong.
gratitude: More than once in a lifetime if you’re lucky, slightly to the left of the abyss, you find that special place. That special zone. So with that I say a big thank you to Franco Amati and Scuzzbucket publication on Medium writing.
