Once We Awake

A shared thought

Age is just a number,
and tragedy lies in the awareness that follows —
of the world, we come to see with different eyes,
and feel with the altered heart.

Time passes so fast once we awake —
from years of fairy tails and nightmares.
Days turn into hours and months into weeks,
leaving us in disbelief.
